         The Origin

A practice shaped by the Cape Garden Route.

Curtis Fleur grew up along the Garden Route, where the relationship between a home and its landscape is impossible to ignore. The quality of light. The warmth of timber and stone. The generosity of well-considered space. These were everyday lessons, long before they became professional convictions.

That formative experience became the founding belief of CF Architects: that a home should do more than shelter. It should elevate the life inside it.

“I wanted to design homes that ask their owners how they want to live — and then build something exceptional around the answer.”

The studio was established in 2016 in the Eastern Cape and relocated to Bryanston, Gauteng in 2021. Since 2024, CF Architects has refined its focus toward high-end, principal-led residential design — fewer projects, deeper engagement, an even higher standard of outcome.

         What guides every decision

Architecture is a conversation , and an aspiration to your idealised values.

The most considered design begins with understanding — our clients’ lifestyles, values, aspirations, and the subtleties that define how they live. We listen to what is said, and to what is felt but unspoken. That insight shapes every line we draw.

Deep Listening

01

We take fewer projects so we can take each one further. The boutique constraint is a deliberate choice — it is what allows a house to become a home that has been genuinely designed for the long term, in every detail.

Deliberate Process

02

Curtis leads every project from first sketch to final handover. You engage the principal, and you work with the principal, every step of the way. That is the studio’s commitment from initial consultation to handover of your homes keys.

Principal Accountability

         The Team

Small by design. Deep by intention.

CF Architects is structured to design at the highest level while remaining small enough to care deeply about every project.

Curtis Fleur
Studio Principal · SACAP Registered

Principal architect and founder. Curtis leads every client relationship, every design, and every site personally. With roots in the Garden Route and a decade of practice across South Africa, his approach is deliberate, considered, and deeply client-focused.

Ashley
Second Principal · Co-Director

Co-director and second principal, Ashley brings a complementary design perspective and is transitioning into an increasingly active project leadership role. Her involvement ensures CF Architects can maintain principal-level oversight across all active commissions.

Luzaan
Professional Architectural Technologist

With ten years of experience, Luzaan leads the production and documentation of every project. Her precision and technical depth are what translate design intent into drawings that can actually be built — on time and to specification.

Ehsaan
Candidate Senior Architectural Technologist

A candidate senior architectural technologist developing across all stages of the design and documentation process under senior mentorship. Ehsaan brings precision and energy to the production of every project the studio undertakes.
